Aculab announces new SS7 cPCI card at 3GSM
19th February 2004, Milton Keynes, UK /The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- Aculab, a leading provider of computer telephony technology for developers and systems integrators, will announce at 3GSM Congress further enhancements to the SS7 product set. To assist solution providers fulfilling applications like SMS messaging, a dedicated signalling card is being introduced.
The new E1 cPCI card will offer up to 16 signalling links for SS7 and initially the product will support the TCAP/SCCP software that, like all other protocols, can be downloaded from Aculab’s website under a cost free licence. The signalling links can be configured by the developer to be either in a single E1, or spread between the eight E1s present on the card.
The new card will work using Aculab’s version 6 (V6) telephony software and the first release will be for the Windows environment. Later, the card will also be available to use in both Linux and Sun SPARC Solaris operating systems and will also support the ITU-T ISUP protocol enabling up to 32 E1s to be configured in a single linkset.
This new development will bring significant benefits and provide additional opportunity to target new business in one of the fastest growing areas of the telecommunications sector.
