SkyFrames and Arizona High Speed Access to Create 'Wi-Fi Oasis' in Arizona
First-Responders in Rural Community NOW Have Broadband Access, Secure Communication to State and Federal Govt. Agencies
COSTA MESA, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SkyFrames, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: SKYU) , a provider of low-cost, highly secure satellite broadband Internet services, announced today the successful installation of Satellite Broadband / WiFi services in the rural community of Golden Valley, Arizona. SkyFrames and Arizona High Speed Access, an ISP that provides broadband connectivity services for rural locations in Arizona, are creating hot-spots in previously cold-spots in rural America.
"The initial response has been tremendous," according to Barry Wilkinson, of Arizona High Speed Access. "We signed up nearly 80 subscribers in only 3 days. The SkyFrames' Service is cost-effective and reliable compared to the offerings from other telecommunications companies. I have spent months waiting for a T1 to be installed by AT&T, my business and my customers just could not wait any longer."
"Arizona High Speed Access created a WiFi 'Oasis' in the Desert," stated Jim France, CEO of SkyFrames. "We are excited about the prospects of working with Arizona High Speed Access and their aggressive rollout plans to create additional WiFi 'Oases' across the Southwest."
State Wireless of Ottumwa, Iowa, a SkyFrames' VAR, provided the WiFi integration services for Arizona High Speed Access. State Wireless installs SkyFrames' solutions and provides value added services in support of WiFi, VoIP, and Web Conferencing. Karl Steffen of State Wireless commented, "We are pleased to be part of a team that is providing individuals, businesses, schools, and first-responders high speed Satellite access to the internet. This installation as well as the other planned could not occur without SkyFrames technology."
The Golden Valley Fire Department (GVFD) is one of the first subscribers on the Network. GVFD is a member of the regional Hazardous Materials units and will utilize the system to more effectively access HazMat information, retrieve and file State reports. Prior to the installation of the SkyFrames Satellite in the region, GVFD had dialup access ONLY. "The ability to have high-speed broadband access will make a huge difference to the department and the community," stated Fire Chief Harold Nystedt. Chief Nystedt is an 18-year veteran of the Fire Department and is part of a team that includes 2 Fire Stations covering a service area of 120 square miles including a chemical plant. "The SkyFrames system and WiFi network will allow GVFD to communicate more efficiently between the 2 fire stations, with other first responders and have timely access to Arizona State and Federal Homeland Security Databases and alerts." Microsoft's' NetMeeting has been installed and VoIP applications are being considered.
For the first time residents and businesses surrounding Golden Valley will have access to T1 broadcast speeds across SkyFrames products. There will be a combination of wireless connectivity solutions that will include 802.11 and omni-directional radio frequency antennas. Each subscriber affiliated with the Arizona High Speed Access ISP will receive their own IP address and will be responsible for paying monthly broadband subscription charges.
Arizona High Speed Access plans to expand its business relationships with SkyFrames and State Wireless as it ramps up service offerings throughout Arizona and the Southwest. "Businesses, municipalities, schools, hospitals, and individuals have been under-served in this part of the country. There is plenty of demand in this community and others as demonstrated by our first- time subscribers. The Arizona High Speed Access ISP initiative will fill the gap in Golden Valley and other communities across the Southwest," stated Barry Wilkinson.
