    BEDMINSTER, NJ and SAN DIEGO, CA -March 10, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless service provider and operator of the most reliable wireless network, and Kyocera Wireless Corp, a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones, announced immediate availability of the Kyocera SE47 sliding wireless phone.



    The phone features a unique slide-to-open faceplate, which offers Verizon Wireless' trendsetting customers an alternative and fashionable way to open and close their phones.

    The Kyocera SE47 gives customers a sleek new twist on the traditional mobile phone design, as well as a selection of must-have features. The Kyocera SE47 can act as an organizer, offering scheduling tools, calculator, alarm clock and a stopwatch. The SE47 is also equipped with many other desirable features, such as speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, polyphonic ringtones, predictive text and enhanced two-way TXT messaging.

    The Kyocera SE47 is Get It Now?-enabled for easy download from Verizon Wireless' virtual mall that gives customers a myriad of separately purchased options that include games, ring tones and productivity tools.

    The Kyocera SE47 is easy to use. The silver handset features silver and chrome navigation keys, which guide users through all phone features. To place a call, customers simply slide the screen up to reveal the numerical keys, then slide the screen down when the call is finished.

    The Kyocera SE47 is light and compact, weighing only 3.39 ounces and measuring 3.48" x 1.89" x 0.90" closed and 4.80" x 1.89"x 0.90 open.
    The dual-band digital cellular handset incorporates assisted-GPS and CDMA2000 1X technology and has TTY and TDD capabilities for the hearing impaired.

    Predictive text-input software provides rapid text entry in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
    The Kyocera SE47 priced at $49.99 (after a $50 rebate) with a two-year contract, is available along with most Verizon Wireless products and services at more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, Circuit City and participating RadioShack stores and on the Web at http://www.verizonwireless.com.
