    Country?s Largest Carrier-Owned Wi-Fi Service Chooses PCTEL?s Segue? Roaming Client


    Chicago, Illinois ? March 16 2004 -/Wi-Fi Technology News/- PCTEL, Inc. (Nasdaq:PCTI), a leader in wireless solutions, announced a licensing agreement to provide its private label version of the Segue? Roaming Client software to T-Mobile USA, Inc. for use with its T-Mobile Hotspot service.

    By installing the software onto a notebook computer, T-Mobile HotSpot customers will be able to automatically detect, connect and log on at more than 4,200 T-Mobile HotSpot locations across the country. The Segue? Roaming Client also includes support for multi-mode client software that will allow users to roam between multiple technologies, including Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE and Ethernet.

T-Mobile?s HotSpot service is the largest carrier-owned Wi-Fi network in the country with more than 4,200 HotSpot locations nationwide,? said Marty Singer, Chief Executive Officer of PCTEL. ?To have the support of the first and most experienced wireless carrier to provide Wi-Fi service in the U.S. is a vote of confidence for our product,? continued Singer.

    T-Mobile USA is the latest of several wireless operators to have selected PCTEL?s Segue? Roaming Client. The Segue? Roaming Client provides mobile users secure, seamless access and roaming capabilities across Wi-Fi and cellular data networks. The Segue? Roaming Client enables rapid scanning of available networks and a user-friendly connection process. The client has also been bundled with 802.11 chipsets and licensed to major carriers within and outside the U.S.

    The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
