i have a linksys wireless-g router with, what they tell me, wireless internet. i'm getting a connection through the router but it can't find the internet. i took the cable out of the router and put it directly into my tower and it works fine now. it stopped working at 4 am. no problems, then BAM! it shut off. i'm not exactly computer savvy, so i don't know what you mean by checking pings and blah blah blah. so please, dumb it down a bit. or give me a complete walk through. any help is great. many thanks in advance

p.s. the jacks at my online service won't help me because once the signal is sent to my house, they don't care after that. and i've phoned the linksys people and the only thing i get out of them is clear your cookies , disconnect everything etc.
