I have set up a wireless PC which uses the Linksys WMP11 wireless adapter but am unable to (connect)ping my Router despite all possible attemts including moving the pcs' together. My SSID and channel is the same for both computers and a DHCP address is allocated the wireless PC by the the Router. My serviceprovider allocates dynamic IP therfore I only require automatic TCP/IP protocoll settings. All this I know, but nothing works in regard to ping of router. I must add that I am a resident of Sweden and am using the equipment there. Does this matter when selecting channel? Shouldn't think so because the BEFW11S4 takes care of such. Anyone guru out there with an answer?

my friend

may i know which operating system are you having in your pc....
if win me,2000,98se or winxp then only your card is compatible with it...
win98 first edition is not compatible with it....

there can many issues for not pinging up the router:
1.if you have firewall , antivirus or mcafee in your pc which is blocking the request...
2. if you are using winxp then please check for network bridge in network connections,
if the network bridge is there please delete it....
3.if you are using 2000,98se,me or winxp please try to delete the drivers for it & then reinstall it (recommended are the latest drivers from linksys.com)
4.if you seeing the signal strength still not able to ping the router, then what i suggest is to make the pc hard-wired & then try to ping the router...if pings this timepen the router interface i.e. 192.168.1.1 in the internet explorer & change the wireless channel to 11 or 1.....

try all this....i am quite sure you will find your solution in it
