We have two laptops in our house. One of them gets great signal reception, and one gets horrible. I have tried swapping the wireless pcmcia cards, have swapped routers, even swapped houses. I realize you have poor reception , but I don't understand why one laptop has no problems, and the other one does. The wireless router is in the basement, and with the laptop that works fine, I can be all the way up on the second floor. The other laptop can be in the other room, and it drops it's connection. I switch the wireless cards between the two laptops and still see the same results. Laptop A' signal strength is fine laptop B's is not.

If anyone has any insites into what woudl cause this i would appreciate learining.

Thanks,

Ted

Dear Ted,
I cant give exact solution with out seeing physicaly...But you can try ....
You may get solution
(A)Find out your PCMCIA card slot ...having any Problem...
(B)Un install PCMCI card and reinstall
(c) change the channel in your Router
try this first...if you ok..no problem..or give me feed back lets see..what to do next?
Have nice Day

Indiakumar, I tried switching channels, and that didn't work. However i did go out yesterday and buy a usb wireless adapter. That solved all of my problems. Reception is fine with that.
I still don't konw why the pcmcia was getting such poor reception, but i am happy to have resolved the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Ted
