Record Presence at COMMUNICASIA of China and India means Market Growth

March 30, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/-The Chinese presence at CommunicAsia 2004 in Singapore in June has reached record levels ? of both exhibitors and visitors ? as the event strengthens its position as Asia?s premier exhibition and conference for communications and IT.

Chinese involvement reflects both its own massively growing and increasingly sophisticated home market and the desire by Chinese companies to expand their offering with global exports of advanced and highly price-competitive solutions ? possibly with European partners. Chinese companies involved already include Amoi, Sunwave, Shenzhen Guanri telecom and Suman Satellite Technology.

?I think ?networking? is going to be the key word of CommunicAsia 2004,? said event director Alun Jones. ?The Chinese are showing their wares for the world to see but their other agenda is to use CommunicAsia to meet with potential business partners from Europe and elsewhere. Having spoken to many Europe-based companies, who are keen to get out there after last year?s forced postponement, they feel just the same and I?m sure there will be a frenzy of meetings taking place before, during and after the show?.

June?s event (15th-18th) will be the 15th CommunicAsia. Last year?s show was cancelled due to the SARS outbreak in the region but the show has bounced back in spectacular fashion and more than 40 countries are represented to date, with four halls already booked out at the giant Singapore Expo venue.

India has also recognised the show?s importance: ?CommunicAsia is an ideal and effective platform for cultivating new business contacts and penetrating international markets,? said Mr DK Shareen, Executive Director of India?s Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, which is heading the Indian Pavilion.

?Indian companies which have exhibited at CommunicAsia in the past have had immense success establishing business leads from all over the region, such as China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam?.

In addition to China, India and Europe, CommunicAsia2004 will house exhibitors from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Italy Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, UK and the United States, amongst others. Key international exhibitors at the event include Ericsson, France Telecom, Fujitsu, Inmarsat, Intelsat, LG Electronics, Lucent, NetScreen, Polycom, Samsung, Shin Satellite, Siemens, Samsung, Sanyo Electric, Sony Telephone Organization of Thailand, Telekom Malaysia, and Thuraya

To be held alongside CommunicAsia2004 is EnterpriseIT2004, a tradeshow targeted at enterprises. EnterpriseIT2004 will deliver IT solutions in system integration, e-learning, data warehousing, storage systems, and enterprise resource planning.
