New Appointments to Contec?s Advisory Committee



Vancouver, Canada, May 06, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/-? Contec Innovations (?Contec? or the ?Company?) is pleased to announce the appointment of William Yu and Caroline Lewko to the Company?s Advisory Committee.

William Yu is the Managing Partner of Cansbridge Capital, a boutique venture firm with strong connections to Asia. His firm focuses its investments in the software and telecom equipment & infrastructure areas and assists companies with strategic development, including sales and marketing with an emphasis on the Asia Pacific countries.

Mr. Yu co-founded and was a Director, the CFO and COO of Intrinsyc Software Inc., a TSE-listed public company and a leader in technology solutions to create, link and manage networks of embedded devices. Intrinsyc grew from a few employees to over 60 under his tenure and now boasts over 115 employees.

Mr. Yu is a director of a number of organizations, including Abebooks, a private company based in Victoria, B.C. Canada. Abebooks is the world?s largest online marketplace for books with a variety of over 50 million books offered by more than 12,000 booksellers. http://www.Abebooks.com was named one of the top e-business sites by the United Nations at the World Summit Awards in Geneva, 2003. He is the past Chair of Monte Jade Science & Technology Association (Western Canada) and the current Vice Chair of Monte Jade (Global) Association.

Previously, Mr. Yu was with Marleau LeMire Securities, a mid-market Investment Banking firm. He was also a portfolio manager with Discovery Enterprises Inc., a B.C. provincial government-backed venture capital firm, specializing in technology investing.

Mr. Yu earned his Master of Business Administration with Honours and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University.

Caroline Lewko is President & CEO of Revere Communications Inc. Ms. Lewko is also a founding member, and since January 2004, President of the Board of the Wireless Innovation Network of British Columbia (WINBC). WINBC is a local industry association representing over 100 member companies in the wireless technology field.

Ms. Lewko held the position of Senior Business Analyst with CIMI (the Canadian Institute for Market Intelligence - part of the National Research Council IRAP network) for 4 years. Ms. Lewko worked with over 200 companies in the wireless, new media and IT areas where she assisted with identifying business models, strategic alliances, funding opportunities and competitive intelligence to help these companies commercialize their technologies in the global market.

Ms. Lewko is also on the advisory board of Leading Edge BC. Leading Edge BC, an industry-led partnership with the Provincial Government of British Columbia. Leading Edge BC was established in September 2003 as a not-for-profit marketing organization dedicated to ensuring that BC is globally recognized as a premier destination for technology enterprise. Nearing the end of a 3-year term, Ms. Lewko also sits on the board of New Media BC.

Ms. Lewko earned her MBA from Dalhousie University and BA from the University of Manitoba.

Contec is also pleased to announce that Brian Buckley has joined the Company to fill the role of Manager, Investor Relations. Mr. Buckley has previously worked as an investment advisor and since the beginning of 2001 has handled investor relations for two North American based public companies.

In relation to the above appointments, Contec has granted incentive stock options to purchase up to 90,000 common shares at an exercise price of $0.17 for up to five years. The grant of these stock options is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
