D-Link Launch 10 gigabit modules for DXS-3326GSR & DXS-3350SR Switches
LONDON-/21 Jan, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- ? In Autumn 2004, D-Link, one of the world's biggest suppliers of network products, launched two stackable level 3 switches with 10 gigabit capacity, the DXS-3326GSR and DXS-3350SR. The company has now launched 10 gigabit modules for these switches, to create a complete solution. The DEM-420X is a 2 port module for 10 gigabit XFP modules, which is connected to the free module slot in one of the DXS switches.
Depending on the length of fibre cable required, one of the XFP modules DEM-421XT and DEM-422XT is then connected. The DEM-421XT is a 10 gigabit XFP multi-mode module for max fibre cable length of 300 metres and the DEM-422XT is a 10 gigabit XFP single-mode module for fibre cables up to 10 km in length.

The two stackable 10 gigabit level 3 switches comprise the 24 port mini GBIC SFP switch DXS-3326GSR and the DXS-3350SR with 48 1000BaseT ports. Both have two module slots for 10 gigabit XFP ports which allows them to be connected to the backbone. They can be stacked both traditionally, via the built-in 10 gigabit stacking ports, or via Single IP management for virtual stacks and simple administration. The switches are also equipped with administration tools in the form of multi-layer ACL and IP routing, together with bandwidth control, SNMP and RMON monitoring.
