82% of IT Buyers of Communication Services Find Flexibility as Top Priority
Weybridge-/8 Feb, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- 82% of IT decision makers cited ?flexibility? as being the key decision criteria when selecting a communications service provider to support their business. In a recent survey conducted by Sirocom, a leading Virtual Network Operator, respondents also highlighted the impact of lifestyle demands on their users and the strong demand for accessing corporate information whilst ?on-the-move? and away from the office.
70% are planning to roll out enhanced remote and home-working initiatives over the next 12 months to provide solutions to enable greater productivity for users at flexible working locations. ALL of those respondents indicated that Broadband services would be a key ingredient in these initiatives to allow users to maintain a ?near office? experience whether working via a broadband connection from home or a Wireless Hotspot at a hotel or coffee shop.
?What was clear from the research conducted was the agreement between IT Decision Makers and their users of a demand for flexible services.? Says Tim Gain, Sales and Marketing Director at Sirocom, adding, ?With studies indicating significant increases in workforce productivity when users are able to work flexibly, it is now clear to see that IT departments are responding to this demand and creating solutions which will assist them in being able to make these work location choices without having to compromise on business productivity.
It has also been enlightening to see organisations striving for more flexibility from their service providers with commercial and technical flexibility featuring much higher than service cost when organisations evaluate vendors. There is a strong suggestion that many organisations have in the past been encumbered by inflexible commercial contracts and technical solutions which simply don?t allow IT departments to respond effectively to the changes in their business or to their user?s demands.?
Survey Criteria:
500 IT decision makers, from Small and Large enterprises in the public and private sector, responded to the e-survey distributed by Sirocom, and consist of past, present and potential users of Sirocom?s managed service portfolio.
