GPS Industries Announces Addition of New Director of Marketing and Communications
NEW YORK, NY -/October 24, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- GPS Industries, Inc. (OTC BB: GPSN), a leading innovator of Wi-Fi and GPS-enabled multimedia communications and management solutions for golf courses, resorts, sporting events and residential communities, today announced the strategic addition of Bernadine Plavcic at the newly created position of Director of Marketing and Communications.
Ms. Plavcic comes from a background in the field of Communication, Media Relations, Investor Relations, Government Relations and Marketing, and was spokesperson for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid Corporation. From 2003-2005 she was the Director of Communications & Public Education for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC/Yukon Chapter and was responsible for government relations and strategic communication initiatives province-wide. While in the employ of the Pacific National Exhibition and under the Business Development sector, she was responsible for two revenue generating portfolios -- Marketing & Special Projects and Attractions & Exhibits.
Ms. Plavcic began her career as an investment broker and with a background in broadcast journalism, served as Executive Producer and Operations Manager for television lottery bingo in Kiev, Ukraine, where she produced television campaigns and advised Ministers of State on logistics and solutions to set-up and operations of government lottery distribution systems. Ms. Plavcic brings 17 years of experience in Marketing and Communications to GPS Industries, and has been involved with television commercials that have won Clio, Lotus and Bessie marketing awards.
