Midentity Announces Distribution Agreement With The Number (UK) Ltd
Midentity? Agrees Distribution Deal With 118 118? For A Desktop Directory Enquiry Tool With ClickDial? and SendToMobile?
London, -/February 7, 2006 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Midentity Limited, Europe?s leading provider of personal digital identity services, today announced the successful completion of a distribution agreement with The Number (UK) Ltd, operator of the UK?s largest directory enquiry service, branded 118 118?.
118 118 will distribute an etribes Deskbar, with a 118 118 Plugin, from the http://118118.com website. The etribes Deskbar is a retail-branded version of Midentity?s suite of personal identity and publishing services.
The 118 118 Plugin will allow users to search for both business and residential contact details from their PC Desktop without opening a web browser. The 118 118 Plugin features SendtoMobile? and ClickDial? functionality. SendtoMobile? allows users to send retrieved numbers to their mobile. ClickDial? allows users to quickly and easily call the numbers displayed. When the user of ClickDial? clicks the number, the callers? own phone will ring and when answered they are automatically put through to the number being dialed. This removes the need for the user to dial the number on their phones keypad.
Simon Grice, CEO of Midentity, commented, ?In an increasingly converged world the providers who offer a range of services within an intuitive interface will create the most value for their customers. 118 118 are already a leading Directory Enquiry brand and by working with Midentity aim to create additional brand loyalty, service usage and customer satisfaction.?
The etribes Deskbar is built on Midentity?s core solution set, Midentity Contacts?, which integrates a PC user?s contact management software (such as Microsoft? Outlook) with the media, information, search and communications (SMS, VOIP, PSTN) services offered by Midentity?s business partners. The resulting service significantly improves and simplifies how a user manages and accesses their contacts and also provides automatic backup and access to an online copy of their PC and mobile address book.
The deal is another step forward for Midentity which recently completed a funding round of equity finance. Midentity is backed by a variety of wealthy private investors including some of the original investors such as Esther Dyson, the US technology commentator and Chris Akers founder of the Sports Internet Group.
