Trace A Mobile's Managing Director Jonathan Cook said, "this is the first of a range of GPS trackers we are planning to launch. The unit will retail at ?199.99 plus vat and includes 50 free tracks. We're hoping that apart from missing persons it will appeal to vehicle haulage companies for fleet tracking on the Continent."

The company first launched GSM mobile phone tracking in the United Kingdom in October 2003. Since then 1000's of customers have signed up to have their mobile phones traced, including the BBC and Chrysalis radio. Press coverage included the Sun, Daily Express and London's Metro newspaper.

"The service has been used by people to locate a lost mobile and some people have reported success in combating nuisance calls. We had a number of enquiries from customers after Jack Bauer and CTU used mobile phone tracking in the Tv series 24 to locate mobile phones belonging to suspects! Currently GSM mobile tracking is only available on Orange, O2, Vodafone and T Mobile and is limited to only a few European Countries explains Cook, but the new tracker has no network restrictions and so will expand our market potential.
