4ipnet Updates Its WHG301 Secure Wi-Fi Controller Firmware
The latest WHG301 firmware brings more handy features for high-density Wi-Fi hotspot or hotzone deployments.
Taipei, Taiwan -/Wi-Fi Technology News/- 4ipnet, Inc., a leading provider of cost-effective complete wireless networking solutions, today announced the new firmware for its WHG301 Secure WLAN Controller to support sponsor links on login portal, automatic redirection to home page, Ethernet connection to external terminal devices, traffic accounting with external RADIUS server, and more credit card online payment options.
The released features come in handy for high-density Wi-Fi hotspot or hotzone deployments, where customers are facilitated with wireless Internet access.
The newly-added feature "Walled Garden Ad List" enables administrators to easily create multiple sponsor website links on user login page, giving hotspots the edge to offer extra commercial services. The ability to support Ethernet connection to external terminal devices (up to 10) allows the operator to print out tickets/receipts via different terminals in different locations. To provide more flexible accounting methods, the latest WHG301 firmware implemented a RADIUS Vendor Specific Attribute (VSA) for traffic accounting by the amount of data transferred using an external RADIUS server. When a predefined volume-based traffic limit is reached (which is configurable for each group of users), the user from the RADIUS account database will be disconnected.
The feature enhancement in this release: The Australian payment gateway, SecurePay, has been added to the online payment options - the WHG301 supports self-service account purchase by credit card through PayPal, Authorize.net, or SecurePay.
