Swisscom Mobile AG Names Portal Software a Strategic Supplier
CUPERTINO CA, (February 23, 2004) /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Portal Software, Inc., (Nasdaq: PRSF) announced today it has been named a strategic supplier by Swisscom Mobile AG, Switzerland?s largest mobile operator. Portal has been a supplier of billing solution software to Swisscom Mobile since 2000.

With 3.6 million subscribers representing a 66% market share, Swisscom Mobile is Switzerland?s leading cellular operator. In addition to GSM900 and 1800, the company?s network has been upgraded to support GPRS, HSCSD and public WLAN, which it makes available at over 400 hotspots across the country.
The close business relation with Vodafone enabled Swisscom Mobile to launch the GPRS based technology Vodafone live! service in Switzerland in November 2003. Vodafone live! signed up 25,000 subscribers in the first two weeks the service was available in Switzerland. For Portal, Swisscom Mobile is the latest operator to select its solution to bill for Vodafone live!
