AT&T Wins $8.6 Million Deal From New York Community Bank
BEDMINSTER, N.J. -March 1, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- AT&T announced today it has won business valued at $8.6 million from New York Community Bank to provide an integrated networking solution that supports bank teller applications at branches across New York State.
AT&T will provide a portfolio of local and long-distance voice and data services, creating a wide-area network that links 139 branches, including 39 Roslyn Savings Bank locations acquired by New York Community Bank in October 2003. AT&T also will provide high-speed Internet connectivity for the bank and local phone service at more than 50 of the bank's branch offices.
Using AT&T's services, New York Community Bank gains efficiencies in a number of areas, including smoother teller transactions, faster loan processing and approvals, and improved branch-to-branch communications. Additionally, the bank expects to save more than $2 million over the next four years.
"AT&T demonstrated across-the-board superiority in price, service level agreements, online customer servicing, account team support and contract terms," said Robert Brown, executive vice president and chief information officer of New York Community Bank.
AT&T will integrate the bank's data, voice and Internet services with its industry-leading AT&T Business Network (ABN) offer. ABN makes it possible for New York Community Bank to consolidate all of its communications needs into a single contract, with a single bill and discounts across all services.
