Leader of WLAN Rogue Detection, Intrusion Detection & Policy Enforcement Listed on GSA Schedule through Partnership With DigitalNet Government Solutions
ATLANTA and HERNDON, Va., May 19 /Wi-Fi Technology News/ -- AirDefense Inc., the leader of 24x7 monitoring of wireless LANs, today announced that it has been added to the General Services Administration schedule contract through its partnership with DigitalNet Government Solutions.
As part of DigitalNet's GSA schedule, AirDefense has been rigorously tested and evaluated against government contracting requirements and is now available on a contract basis to all government entities.
"AirDefense is now positioned to secure government wireless LANs and protect highly sensitive wired networks with real-time detection of all rogue wireless access points, stations and devices," said Jay Chaudhry, chairman and CEO of AirDefense. "For almost a year, several government agencies have been deploying AirDefense for the highest level of WLAN security and operational support that can only be provided with 24x7 monitoring of the airwaves."
AirDefense solutions consist of distributed sensors and server appliances. The remote sensors sit near 802.11 access points or areas with a no-wireless policy to monitor all wireless LAN activities 24x7 and communicate with the server appliance, which analyzes the traffic in real time to identify rogue wireless LANs, detect intruders and attacks, enforce network security policies, deflect intruders from the network and monitor the health of the wireless LAN.
"As AirDefense's first government reseller, DigitalNet is seeing strong traction for AirDefense from the federal government," DigitalNet Vice President Bob Martin said. "After deploying AirDefense internally and for government agencies, DigitalNet added AirDefense to its GSA schedule to streamline and facilitate the purchasing process."
