Hi Guys,

I am working with a client who is looking at implementing a mesh network and having tendered with several supplies, they have more or less chosen LocustWorld. they are able to supply the hardware but dont supply the installation and technical expertise.

would anybody be able to advise me on who or where we would be able to find consultants/contractors to be able to assist in LocustWorld products.

Or could anyone who has used and installed mesh products install any manufacturers products.

Where do these guys hang out?

Cheers,
Tom

hey tom,
Ive had a mesh network that covers 2.5 city blocks for about 2 years here in Atlanta. They work well. For all of the appartments in that area I have one internet connection running. It was fairly straight forward to setup ( as with anything, learning curve). I purchased the supper node, and mest boxes (Air Matrix-Now) from Defacto Wireless here in the states (texas). Purchase the Mesh Pro OS, its more robust. What I have problems with is the support afterwords on the PC based supper node its easy to troubleshoot, but the nodes that are based on the WRAP boards are harder. That is were the major learning curve came in.

Hi Tom

We are a manufacture of wifi and MESH equipment, we also provide training and turn key solutiions, perhaps if you email me at info@zigwire.net the model and all info you have on this i can help. We manufacture OEM for about 12 American companys and MESH is fairly standard, but as things have it today, people call just about anything MESH, to be MESH you require at least 2 Radio systems, one on 2.4Ghz and the other on 5.8Ghz, for backhaul. I found a company selling a unit with one radio and calling it a MESH, then the client could npt figure on how to connect all the MESH units, He could not unless he had a cable connection, which defeats the term MESH

I will be happy to help you and send you a PDF fo some application information

John
