I am presently working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, I am able to pick up a network called etwireless but am unable to get my Dlink card to register a signall, my icon in the task tray is full green but I show no signal strength or connection, anyone have an idea how I can logon to this.

Thank you in advance

Dave

Is the AP open? Some AP's use MAC access as the security. You can see the beacon and SSID but the AP won't let you login. If you use Network Stumbler, it's free, you can see if the AP is WEP protected. If the security is turned on it'll be more of a challenge to login. It's not impossible but it definitely makes things interesting.
