I have currently moved into a loft building that has no cable hookup. I could get dsl however it requires a phone line and ends up being $45-50 a month which is not gona happen (college student=poor) I do have friends at the other end of the building that have dsl and am thinking that a long distance router might reach me. I have looked at two different routers so far: the Berklin wireless pre-n router reviews.cnet /Belkin_Wireless_Pre_N_router/4505-3319_7-30993672.html?tag=lst and the ParkerVision Signal Max WR1500
geeks /details.asp?invtid=L-1-MILE-LITE-K12&cm_mmc=geekmail-_-daily_html-_-25 oct05_L-1-MILE-LITE-K12-_-L-1-MILE-LITE-K12main
the later is a package... and seems like a good $ however i am not sure anything will work considering the building is an old sears and robuck factory and the signal would have to pass over a few hundred feet and through walls and floor/ceiling. Is there anything out there that would efficiently go the distance and through walls?
