(EDIT: By the way, the system can use 802.11b and 802.11g if it helps, I
can switch to either or both. My computer calls the hardware
'(ZD1211B)802.11 b+g USB Adapter'.)
Dear... people,
I recently purchased a Wireless 11g USB Adapter from eBay for use with my
Nintendo DS console.
I installed it, configured a WEP Key etc etc and the first message that
came up was 'This Local Area Connection has limited or no connectivity...'.
I tried connecting on the DS. Signal strength was 'excellent', the network
was 'unlocked' and I managed to connect before receiving the message 'IP
address not found'. Fixed that using walkthroughs on the internet.
However, now I try again, it stays on full signal until the very last
second at which point it goes to nil, and tells me it could connect to the
access point but not to the server.
I fiddled around with the IP Address, Subnet Mask etc. but I feel I am
doing something wrong. Just so you can all help me if you want to, I will
post what my DS wants me to tell it, and below I have posted my
ipconfig/all information. If you could tell me what to enter where I would
be most grateful.
My DS wants: (what I've put in the fields in brackets)
SSID: (WLAN_AP)
WEP Key: (1111111111)
Auto Obtain IP Address: (No, says cannot locate IP address when I say
yes)
IP Address: (blank, normally filled in but has randomly disappeared)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 (was blank but I can remember it)
Gateway: (blank)
Auto Obtain DNS: (No, you can't put Auto Obtain IP but not DNS)
Primary DNS: (blank, normally filled in but has randomly disappeared)
Secondary DNS: (blank, normally filled in but has randomly disappeared)
AND HERE'S THE IPCONFIG/ALL
