I hope someone can help me with this I'm not all the technically minded.
Here goes, I have a fairly new PC and use Orange Broadband (USB connected
ADSL modem) I need to work from home and have a laptop from work and want
to use broadband on the laptop. I purchased a Belkin wireless G Router but
can't get it to work (the modem light on the Router does not come on) Is
the problem caused because I don't have an ethernet connection on my modem
? I do have an ethernet port on my PC but it still doesn't work. Have I
bought the wrong router? that's what Belkin support told me but I'm not
sure I understood correctly.
Any advice would be most welcome.

Ok, the problem possibly is you have an ADSL (phone line) brodband service
but have purchased a DSL (cable) router. If this is what is writen on the
outside of the box you need to return it and get the ADSL router.
Once changed, the set up utility will require your user name and password
(forwarded by the ISP broadband provider) to be entered into the router so
have it handy when you get that far
