Norton has released Norton 360 - it seems to be a general security
software.
The features are all very interesting as far as I am concerned, even though
not all of them sound like genuine security utilities to me - can anyone
comment on this? I find it a little odd ...

Right on, they are not all security features. Even though Norton is best
known for them, they do other things occasionally - see Works, e.g.
And now they have done different things and thrown them together: Namely
security, backup and system configuration (which I think is also part of
Works?)
That way, you only need to buy one program and can solve several different
problems - and if you have a computer than those are problems you have or
are bound to run into sooner or later.
