Subject: HELP on setting up my wireless! Do i need a LAN amplifier?

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can suggest a solution. I have
a wireless network at home (share house) and I
need to purchase a wireless PCI card to access
the internet/network.
Two issue:
1. Which card should I get (I was looking at
this one on eBay: D-Link Air DWL-520 for £10)
2. There is allot of interference between me and
the modem (can't move it so need perhaps a LAN
amplifier or something)?
In the reviews it says that the antenna is
detachable - does that mean I can possibly purchase
a lead and hook the aerial up else where
outside my room and run a lead. Will that solve
my second issue?
Any help would be fantastic. Thank you.

Hope the reply is not too late The card
(802.11b, 11Mbps ) in question should be okay but
I would recommend you go for the DWL-G520 which
is 802.11g, 802.11b Compatible a much more recent
alternative.
The antennas you get on these cards are detachable
and are only of a 2dbi Gain. You can detach
them and replace with a 5dbi or higher gain
antenna. This would your cheapest option. You can
put in a wireless range extender to boost the
signal but you will have to spend a little bit
more.

u.......for ur share house you better move on lan
amplifier.....coz it wil provide u too process ur
wireless network frequently.....and its more affordable
too...
