I've had a couple of wifi routers in my brief time using wifi - mainly bargen bucket stuff like Belkin and D-Link. Most have a virtual servers feature which allows you to allow INBOUND access to something like a web server on http/80.

Here's the rub. They are very unreliable with even firm updates. You can't depend on them. Additionally, they are quite limited like you can only make 1 webserver available on port 80 and one server available on port 443. But if you want allow access for multiple servers they aren't up to the job.

So I am now on the hunt for something that has advanced functionality (such as recognition of host headers ) to allow many webservers to accessbly via the router - and for something absolutely rock-solid reliable. That doesn't need endless reboots and firmware updates.

Is there anyone here who is using this specific functionality - who can give me a recommendation on what to look at?

Regards
mike
