Hey, just wondering whether i can connect to 802.11g networks with my Orinoco Gold 802.11b

I see that 802.11b has a transfer rate of 11mb/ps, and the 802.11g has a transfer rate of 54mb/ps

With this knowledge would i be right saying i CAN connect to 802.11g networks with my 802.11b card, but with a maximum transfer rate of 11mb/ps?

Thanks for reading

r11ckp,
All current 802.11g AP's will automatically step down to link with an 802.11b client card. The 11Mbps (CCK modulation) is a standard modulation of all 802.11g radios. You shouldn't have any problem. As a matter of fact the Orinoco Gold card is a tank. I've had one for a long time and it still works great.

Good luck.......Rfengr
