I've set up a wireless network using a Netgear
WPN824, and so far I've got the router configured,
and a desktop computer connected via wireless.
Everyting ok.
When trying to connect up my Sony Vaio laptop
however, all I get when trying to connect to the
network is a text box with a scrolling line,
and the message waiting for the network
Nothing else happens. The network is detected,
but that's as far as it goes.
Half a dozen messages to the Netgear technical
services helpline gets me nowhere. Either they
don't know, or they won't say what the waiting
for network message indicates, and they've offered
no solution. So, I'm asking for help via this
forum.
Prior to the Netgear, I had everything working with
an SMC Barricade router, except that it would
only allow one computer at a time to access the
internet - hance the change of routers. I
thought there was some kind of restriction with the
SMC, and their technical help was about as much
use as Netgear's.
Does anyone know what the problem might be -
perhaps a manual change of laptop configuration
settings is required - as I really need both
computers to access the internet at the same
time.
Alternatively, if I go back to the SMC, how do
I get dual computer access ?
