My Belkin ADSL modem G router is working fine for its main function, but I find backing up my hard drive on an external hard drive (WD 80 gb) and saving My Documents on my 8gb flash drive memory (Buffalo) is much more difficult. The general backup is much much slower and freezes the computer unless I stop using it, close down my browser and everything else. I now find that saving folders with many files on the flash drive keeps terminating with a message about difficulty in finding a file path. Someone told me this might be something to do with the registry. Can someone explain further and suggest solutions? Thanks. I'm using Windows XP (SP 2) at present, but I plan to switch to Mac OSX Leopard soon, so information relevant to both is welcome, though XP is most immediately relevant. Thanks.
