Hi there,
I recieve signal from my university WLAN in my house but only right near the window. I'd like to extend the range using a repeater but I don't know whether this would work. The way we sign in to the WLAN is over a webpage. The computer finds the signal, then I open the browser and the WLAN redirects the browser to an online WLAN login. I enter my username and password and then it forwards me to my homepage. I don't know any of the router settings or anything, nor do I have permission from the uni to do this. I am a student, so I'm entitled to use the WLAN. I just wondered how a repeater works and whether I'd be able to extend the WLAN without knowing anything other than the network name?
Thanks, Peter

Look for an Access point with the Universal repeater mode function.
The only thing you need to know is the campus SSID or network name to connect to .
