Hi to all, new to this site but hope someone
can give me a helping hand...
Previous to this problem..
I currently have a broadband connection via
Virginmedia (UK). Virgin provide a modem that fits
to the Cable feed. There is an RJ45 cable that
then connects to either a PC, Mac or Wirelss
ap. At the moment I have a KCORP KLS-757 which
works fine if your sat on top of it. Not
much good for roaming around the house though.
It was a fairly simple setup.
Got into the KLS, gave it an IP and range and
made sure it could obtain an IP from the
Router.
Connected the RJ45 to the WAN port. Switch on
the Virgin Router (wait for config) then turn on
the KLS AP
Works! I'm using it now... But, I want to
upgrade to this Cisco Aironet 1200 thats a bit
tougher.
I've got full access to the Cisco interface but
cant for the life of me figure out how to get
the thing working.
I've had it connected via a BT Voyager Router
and it worked right away, just changing the IP
but it had no security.
Virgins Routers do something strange. You cant just
get the IP of the router and and put it in
the gateway on the AP.
I've tried alsorts turning it on and off using
patch cables and netgear switches as a go between
but cant get any internet through it at all.
Then theres the impossible task of figuring how to
put a simple WPA security on it.......
If there is anyone out there that has managed to
get the Cisco Aironet 1200 working through a
Virgin Media Connection I would love some help
please.
Thanks in advance to all those that can assist
