Please Help Me I Have Just Purchased A Dell Inspiron 1720 With A Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-Card. I Have Never Owned A Laptop And I Would Like To Know What I Need To Do In Order To Use This Laptop Around My House.

If you have another desktop hooked to the internet with a router / gateway (if using wireless broadband / ADSL connection for example), the laptop wireless software will pick up the network or router if it has the latest windows or Ubuntu or whatever operating system you have on it, the only thing you need to do is enter the access key on it. The access key (WEP Key or WPA Key) is usually on the router or can be found on the setup or router admin link on the desktop. Make sure your laptop is setup correctly to access the internet through other computers (it is setup and automatically detects and sets up any wi-fi cards when loading the Operating system anyway) and the desktop firewall on the desktop allows wireless networks access. Dell usually have a comprehensive guide to wireless networking setup, just be patient in reading through the help guide available on the laptop usually as part of the dell software package.

Good luck
