It seems that I have managed to break the driver to the D-Link WUA 2340
network adapter that I use in lieu of the internal Broadcomm model my
notebook came with. I tent to get better signal pick up with the D-Link
but have been having connectivity issues lately and Vista tells me it's a
driver issue. My plan this morning was to download the driver again but
for some reason I can get on every website on the planet except for any
beginning with the name D-Link. Looking around for an alternative source
for the driver all I can find are old versions of it and those can only be
accesed after downloading some program that will help me manage all future
driver versions, which I do not want. Does anyone know where I can get,
for free, the current driver for this adapter that will work with Vista?
And what gives with D-Link anyway?
Thanks

The Vista driver, and a quick install guide can be downloaded here:-

Download it on another machine?

| Thanks for the link! However I have only another question. The driver
installed is version 2.2.0.11. the link provides the most recent version
as 1.50. Any ideas? When checking through the properties of the adapter it
tells me I have the most up to date version. |

| Actually, i thought i would go back and see if I installed the wrong one
and when I click on what OS I have it just takes me back to the top of the
page like it did over the weekend causing me to post the original question.
frustrating...., |

Don't know where you've got that version from? The only version listed
anywhere I've looked is v1.50.
My sugestion would be to unplug the device then completly uninstall the
current driver/utill from your system.
Install the new driver, then plug the USB device back in. Vista should then
find, and load the correct driver version.
By the way this device has some really poor reviews, frequent disconections
and runs v hot .
Hears another link to the same download > http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=473 __________________________________ Mick |

| Well that's kinda what I did. After another frustrating morning I decided
to do a complete uninstall, then plugged the adapter back in and after
vista couldn't find the driver it automaticly went looking online. using my
built in adapter and the library wifi. Vista installed Version 2.2.0.11
date of 10/02/07. I agree I could find nothing online other that 1.3, 1.4
and 1.5. Dllinks web site is truly awful. even when I tried to click on
the vista 32 driver it just sent me back to the top of the page. I'm
thinking of trying a different brand soon. I use this adapter with a home
built wifi booster, my latest hobby. Thanks for the help |
