The Blogs are now live, knowledgeable and experienced members can be invited if successful to have and maintain their own blog here on the Wi-Fi Technology Forum.

Sorry for the delay, I know a lot of people were writing to us and couldn't wait for it to be launched. Below is what we sent to all our members on how to apply for a blog:

....We had to tweak the blog software and introduce more features as well as security and privacy etc. In addition to that, we introduced the media gallery and an enhanced profile section, which along with the Blog, Media Gallery and Messaging, makes the site "a la social networking" style, hence following the current expected online trend.

The blogs are now live and the first thing you should do is:

Before anything, log in and read the rules on the blog section wi-fitechnology.com/Members-Blogs.html

And:

1- Go to your account, click the "Edit your Information" and make the sure the Occupation, Website and Signature fields are correct. They will be automatically inserted in every article you write, so make sure they convey a comprehensive message about who you are. This way, you don't have to add your link and bio manually in every article you write. Writers are discouraged to add their site link or bio on articles and the later method is more effective and beneficial to your site (we do implement a nofollow on article copies but not for the imported Bio block). Furthermore, your profile is seen only when people are logged in, so the above fields are the only thing what readers have access to if not logged in except your photo avatar which will be discussed below.

2- Go back to your account main page, click the extended profile link and fill in your Profile which will act as a CV / Résumé for logged in members to browse and for us to review your application (if you did not send enough details). Nobody has access to your account whether logged in or not of course, but the extended profile is public, that is for logged in members only.

3- While this is not a requirement, go to the gallery ( wi-fitechnology.com/pnUserPictures+main.html  ) can also be accessed from your profile once you press submit or the main link on any page, we encourage you to add at least one photo to serve as your Avatar which will be shown as your photo on articles, forum threads, RSS etc. In the long run, you'll achieve better closeness to your readers if they could see you (so says many researchers). If you don't want to or are undecided about which photo to upload, make sure your avatar is blank.gif from the menu and nothing will show.

4- Reply to this email** with you Nickname you registered with, once we review your application, we can then add permission in your account to start your own blog (give your nickname a Staff Writer permission). You'll hear from us probably few hours or 24 hours at the latest.

We are still brainstorming and adding extra features to the blog, gallery and profile, we are testing the Video Flash section to add to the Media Gallery, so members can upload videos of any extension to be converted to flash videos, but this needs extensive testing and tweaking (watermarking, branding etc), so may not be ready until few weeks yet....

** In your case reading this here on the forums, fill in the contact form instead and send with your registered nickname after filling in your profile!

Awaiting your application!
