Hi,
I have installed a ntegear DG834N Wireless router that works with my pc &
other laptops.
My Dell laptop has Mcafee installed. I can connect to the wirless network.
I can ping the router but I CANNOT access the web.
Can anyone help? I have called Dell, Netgear & Mcafee but none of them can
assist.

Sounds to me like your Lappy isn't getting an IP address from your
router?
On your Laptop go to "Wireless Network Connection Properties".
Look for TCP/IPV4 and highlight, then click Properties box.
Obtain IP address and DNS automatically should be selected. On the next tab
should see Automatic private IP address.
If you want to rule out Mcafee, download free AVG to a pen drive on your
working machine. Switch off your laptops wireless connection, and uninstall
Mcafee.
Then load AVG from your pendrive. Switch your wireles back on and try
again.
