About six months ago, I started having a DHCP issue with this router. I
have numerous computers/toys connected to the router including an Apple TV.
When I bought the Apple TV, I connected it wirelessly using DHCP. One day
later, I was unable to get internet on any computers, including the Apple
TV. The problem was narrowed down to the DHCP server issuing the 169.XXX
ip address. I checked everything that was connected to the router and they
were pulling the same address. I thought, no big deal, I'll just reset the
router and it would clear out any problems it had. Nope, the problem still
persists to this day. I ended up having to use static IP addressing, but
was wondering why this literally crept up over night. I've upgraded to the
latest firmware, did a complete reset, and rebooted numerous times, but
DHCP will not work correctly. I've purchased several new laptops since
then and they instantly pull the 169 IP address, so I'm ruling out the fact
that it may be my older equipment. Any ideas on what may be causing this
issue and what I should probably try?
