i hav an Orinoco AP1000. when i connect it to Power, the LEDs flickers and after that they go off. i tried a forced reload and but it still behaves the same way, the LEDs flickers but after dat it goes dead.

so what do u guy s think is wrong and what shopuld i do??

I had something similar happen to mine about a year ago. I fixed mine by replacing the 2 filter capacitors in the power supply. If your's has the same problem then you can fix it yourself if you can solder and know your way around electronics enough (just replace it with the same caps but use a higher temp rating if possible and of course watch the polarity if they are polarised). You can't miss the two capacitors as they are relatively large and will probably look like they are bursting at the seams.

From what I have seen the AP-1000 tends to run hot and with the power supply located directly below the inefficent 486 processor in the AP it can build up quite alot of heat. After I replaced the caps I left the power supply out of the AP-1000 mounting chassis and it runs a bit cooler but is still quite hot. In fact after I inserted a second card it runs hot enough that if I take a card out it is uncomfortable to hold.
