I'm new to wifi... I want to add a wifi card to my laptop and use it at hotspots when I travel. I will be looking at my bank statements and other sensitive sites that require my soc.# and password. Will I be secure from prying eyes?? What can I do to be secure? Many thanks from an old retired traveler..

Hi alslo

Your security is kinda the same when you access the Internet through wired or wireless means. It is the website that is supposed to give you security through encryption and other means. If you are using a public wireless Internet service, they should also be able to give some level of security. Just because you got your wireless card, anyone cannot connect to you. You have to connect to them first.
