Hey all, I'm new to the board, not so new to wireless though. I just
upgraded from your basic DSL to cable. In the process I bought a new router
(Linksys WRT54GS), a new modem (Linksys, dunno the model), and a Linksys
wireless G range expander. I'm running XP Pro with service pack 2. I must
say I'm very happy with my Linksys stuff right now, however I'm having some
problems with the wireless aspect. It seems like my laptop is dropping
connections randomly. Also, when Windows boots I have to manually check
Use Windows to detect my wireless network . But with the range expander, I
pretty much get good recepetion all over the house, so I have no clue why
I'd be dropping a connection. Also, even when I'm connected, the icon in
the tray says I'm not. I have all my computers and Xbox staticly assigned.
If I forgot to add anything just ask, the card I'm using on my laptop is a
wireless Linksys G card.

Could it be a problem with your wireless card? Do you have any other
wireless devices connected and do they work ok?
You could try uninstalling the wireless card, re-booting the laptop. then
re-install the drivers.
It may also be worth trying to download the latest drivers for your
card.
