I'm interested in get conected to the Internet via WiFi.
I would like to know if WiFi access is available from any wireless ISP in
Spain.
Is there any operator involved in providing WiFi access?

Hi,
You MUST be jocking, WIFI in Spain!!!!!, ... HA ... I travel
around all the time in Spain and it is very very hard to find wifi setups
(which work); take for instance Malaga airport, one would expect having
wifi in the airport right, , WRONG!, no wifi for public usage... and this is so in a lot of
airports around Spain...
I bought myself a loptop wifi incorporated but was unable to use it in most
of the places, and the places where I could use it, they charges so much
money that it was not worth it ....
So, I switched again over to dialup and GPRS when I am travelling in Spain
and limit my use just to download and send emails, all other internet stuff
I do when I have broadband.
I use providers like gonuts4free tiscali.es and spansurf which are
more than sufficient in order to send/receive when I am on the road.
The problem is I think is that these companies like Telefonica etc who
control wifi mean good but the technology is not really there... |

Same experience here last week ( 10/06) - very patchy coverage.
Hotel chain SolMelia are first rate. The Parador hotel chain is OK, but
dear, and only if you have a Windows box - my Linux laptop wouldn't work.
The big disappointment was Fon - which is an excellent sharing network
originating from Spain. I've signed up for it, but outside the cities
takeup seems very poor, and in the region I was in, only one ap existed in
a 20 sq mile area - and on the day I needed it that wasn't working!
So, best if you can just survive with the free internet access at Spanish
public libraries!!
Cheers
