Hi!
I AM VERY CONFUSED.
I am hoping to buy an Apple iBook with Wi-fi, Ethernet, USB etc, and was considering creating a network so i could use the the internet on the iBook wirelessly as well as with our Dell Windows 2000 PC (unfortunately it does not have an Ethernet Port). We already have a 1mb modem for our single Broadband connection.
After looking at many options i am now very confused. I was hoping to also buy a USB wi-fi radio pen thingy to connect the PC to the network because it is not otherwise wireless.
I need to make a network in some way that is compatible with both Mac and Windows so the internet can be accessed on both through Wi-fi, and I want to do this as cheaply as possible.
What should I do? Should I have a Peer-to-Peer network, bearing in mind the fact that the laptop would be moved about quite a lot, or use a base station? What products can be recommended?
Alternatively, is there a product which can be plugged into the phoneline to turn it into wireless for the laptop to use the internet only when needed, and then the normal phoneline plugged back in when the PC needs the internet?(if you get what i mean!)
PLEASE HELP ME I AM VERY CONFUSED!
Thankyou in advance!
