Subject: WPC54G Internet access and software oddity

Hi,
I have a dell inspiron 3800, sort of old laptop
with win98SE. I have installed the WPC54G linksys
wireless card, and it connects to my wireless
network with very good reception yet i cant access
the internet. The router is a netgear router/modem
all in one. The laptop cannot ping ther route.
Ive tried changing my TCP/IP settings as my network
uses DHCP and a default gateway (192.168.0.1). No
luck.
Incindentally, once i uninstall the driver and utility
of the wireless card and try reinstallling after
a few boots, the setup autorun tells me it is
alrady installed
Thus i have to use the setup.exe on the CD.
Odd.
