We cannot connect to a cabled router using wireless laptop.
So ur neighbour is hacking ur connection physically or he is lying.

Yes, just make sure the network is not Open and anyone connecting will have
to have the password / key needed.
I heard of someone who bought a "wireless laptop" fully configured to use
mainly for word processing and as he understood it for "built-in-internet",
he clicked on internet explorer, got connected to the internet and thought
that was expected as he was told the laptop connects to the internet
without wires which he understood to be "Built in Internet". It turned out
that he was using his neighbour's internet (who had an open wi-fi
connection) by accident. The neighbour herself did not notice as she had
ADSL modem connection, he did not know until months later when somehow he
could not connect.
Wait for this! He took the laptop to a repair shop (was out of guarantee)
saying to the technician "I always connect to the internet no problem, now
I can't - what's wrong with my internet"!
The Technician tested it with his wireless connection after a little while
got connected, wow, only £30 please, said the technician, "there was not
much wrong with it, it can connect now, see?", and added "I reverted it
back to your default network name, so you can connect again when you go
home". The repair shop did not ask where the server was located, taking it
to be in his house. Got home, the gentleman could not connect for two days,
went back and kicked a "right" big fuss. The shop sent someone the second
time to his house, found there was no server to draw the internet
connection from.......the source was discovered next door, he then went and
explained as a fool to his neighbour, even got her son to open the
connection to test it was the one he could connect to (her son had locked
it by accident as well).
Did he live happily ever-after, I don't know, he had to pay for a broadband
connection!
See it could be an innocent mishap!

Hi festprint
You could try using some management software. There are many available on
the Internet. Do a search. I found one recently and am testing it myself -
WiFi Manager.
Its free download is available at
manageengine.adventnet /products/wifi-manager/
Take care
