I thought I bought compatible stuff at a good price. I have the Orinoco Classic Gold card in my laptop with WinXP Home and a 2 Wire 100W router. I am using a cable modem. I haven't got the setup right yet as the carddoes not find the router and the router light for broadband link is orange. I understand that the router is not setup yet or the light would be green. I called tech support for the router but they could not help since the card was 3rd party but their simple instructions include info on Orinoco gold cards. I called Orinoco but the line got disconnected durring the tech session and I was lucky to get help since the card is Lucent and they are now owned and built under a new name. Both pieces were bought on eBay but new in the box. I don't have a conflict in my system hardware (checked that) and the driver for the card is built into XP so it was a simple plug&play. I've heard that the driver in XP is better than the company's driver about conflicts. It seems to be the router install that I can't get right. Any suggestions? I walked the steps with the 2Wire tech for 100W setup but no luck. I am fairly new to wifi but if you type slow, I think I can understand and get thru. This is my first post. Sorry if it is too wordy but wanted to be thorough.
