I have Wi-Fi card in my dell laptop (802.11 g)..It works fine around my house up to 200 feet. I wonder if there is such a booster that I can plug into the card that would pick up signals from my home router (Linksys) from a few miles away. I like to roam around parks (at least a few miles) while working on my laptop. Is this possible?

A couple miles will be tough because there are normally many obstructions between your home router and your laptop...But you can increase your range significantly with the use of a high gain omni antenna sitting on a pole or mast above your house...

We have some here: wlanmall /antennas-omnidirectional-c-4_60.html]2.4 GHz Omni Antennas

Most of the Linksys bridge/APs have RP-TNC antenna connectors so you will need the appropriate RP-TNC to N-Male LMR-400 Cable.

Hope this helps!
